FARMVILLE, Va. – North Carolina Central University junior golfer
Zane Lewis shot 69 (-3) in Sunday's final round to tie for 16th place on the individual leaderboard at the Manor Intercollegiate, hosted by Longwood University at The Manor Golf Club.
A native of Sanford, North Carolina, Lewis posted scores of 76-75-69 (220) to climb 22 positions up the leaderboard on the final day among 89 golfers. Lewis is one of only four Eagles to achieve a score of 3-under or better in the modern era of NCCU golf. He tallied a 4-under-par 66 as a sophomore last season.
Fellow junior
Jordan Bohannon carded a 70 (-2) on Sunday to finish in a tie for 29th with scores of 79-74-70 (223). Sophomore
Samuel Bradley shaved five strokes off of his second-round tally for a 76 final round (84-81-76=241).
As a team, the Eagles rallied on Sunday to record a 296 and pass Iona College for a 14th-place tie.
NCCU returns to action on April 26-28 at the MEAC Men's Golf Championship in Savannah, Georgia.
