DURHAM, N.C. – Junior
Lauren Mullis picked up her first career singles and doubles wins as the North Carolina Central University women's tennis team cruised to a 7-0 victory over University of Maryland Eastern Shore Sunday afternoon at the NCCU Tennis Courts.
The Lady Eagles only dropped two of 74 singles games contested to improve to 2-10 overall. The Hawks remained winless at 0-5.
Mullis swept her opponent – 6-0, 6-0 – at No. 6 singles to secure her first win in just her third dual match of the season.

Jasmine Gabriel, senior No. 3
Lynsey Cover, senior No. 4
Tamara Jeremic, and freshman No. 5
Emily Pena all matched Mullis with flawless 6-0, 6-0 victories.
Junior
Jamie Rogers was tested the most in the top singles bout. Senior Melequa King tallied both of Eastern Shore's games won, but Rogers still coasted to the 6-1, 6-1 triumph.
Rogers, Gabriel, Cover and Pena all earned their third wins of this campaign.
In doubles, NCCU only lost one game.
Rogers and Jeremic earned a 6-1 victory atop the lineup. Cover and Gabriel posted a 6-0 triumph on court two while Mullis and Pena did the same on the third court.
Cover and Gabriel leveled their record together at 4-4; Rogers and Jeremic moved over .500 at 2-1; and Mullis and Pena got in the win column for the first time as partners (1-2).
NCCU next hosts fellow Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference member Morgan State University on Thursday at Noon.
