ELON, N.C. – The Elon University women's tennis only lost three games in four completed singles matches to roll to a 5-0 non-conference dual victory over North Carolina Central University Saturday morning at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
The Phoenix improved to 11-5 overall with sophomore No. 2 Maria Paraja, junior No. 3 Kirsten Ward, freshman No. 5 Sophia Edo and senior No. 6 Natalia Janowicz all winning in straight sets.
The Lady Eagles had to move several players up in their lineup with freshman
Frida Cnossen, who usually plays at No. 1 or 2, unable to compete Saturday.

Elon earned the first team point with 6-2 and 6-1 wins on the second and third doubles courts, respectively.
NCCU (0-9 Overall) will begin Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Southern Division play at Savannah State University on Tuesday and South Carolina State University on Wednesday. Both clashes are slated to start at 1 p.m.
