SAVANNAH, Ga. – After jumping Savannah State into fourth place following the second round of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Golf Championship, North Carolina Central University slipped back to fifth place at the conclusion of the final round on Saturday at Crosswinds Golf Club in Savannah, Georgia.
NCCU posted rounds of 308 and 306 on Thursday and Friday for a six-stroke advantage over the event host. Savannah State saved its best round for Saturday, tallying a team score of 304, while the Eagles settled for a 313 to finish three shots behind the Tigers.
Sophomore
Jordan Bohannon (Southfield, Mich.) topped NCCU and placed 14th on the MEAC Championship leaderboard with rounds of 73-77-74 to finish at eight-over-par. Bohannon carded eight birdies with 32 pars.
Senior
Michael Wilson (Flint, Mich.) and sophomore
Zane Lewis (Sanford, N.C.) each used a team-best nine birdies to shoot a three-round total of 231 to tie for 17th place.
