DURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University baseball team has been rolling along as of late, and looking to keep moving forward against New Jersey Institute of Technology as the Highlanders come to the Durham Athletic Park for a three-game series starting Saturday, March 5.
NCCU (5-4) has won five of its last six games, and have been strong at the plate in each of those wins.
Ellington Hopkins (Lansing, N.Y.) is settling into his role as a leadoff hitter as he's currently batting .343 at the plate with three doubles. Through the first nine games he has picked up 12 hits and 12 runs scored.

Justice Sampson (Lumberton, N.C.) is riding the wave of back-to-back saves on consecutive days against Appalachian State and Norfolk State on March 1 and 2.
NJIT (2-5) continues traveling south after taking on NCCU's most recent opponent, Norfolk State on Feb. 28 and 29, taking just one game out of four. Michael Anastasia (Jamison, Pa.) paces the Highlanders at the dish with a .353 batting average and three runs scored.
