DURHAM, N.C. – Fresh off of a weekend series win over North Carolina A&T State University, the North Carolina Central University baseball team will head south to visit Presbyterian College on Tuesday, March 15.
NCCU (9-8) and PC (9-5) last met in Durham at the tail end of the 2015 season, and the Blue Hose came away with a 9-4 win.  The last time these two teams met in Clinton, South Carolina the game was called due to darkness after 13 innings, tied at eight.  That tie was the only one in the modern era for NCCU.
The Eagles picked up two out of three games at NC A&T, and are currently second in the Southern Division of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference after Florida A&M swept Bethune-Cookman in their division-opening series.
Conrad Kovalcik (Detroit, Mich.) has been a power generator for the Eagles so far this year with a team-high four homers and is tied for the team-high with 13 RBI.  Kovalick is currently second in the league in home runs and leads the MEAC with 15 walks drawn.
Justice Sampson (Lumberton, N.C.) continued his stellar start from the bullpen during the weekend, and recorded his 10th appearance in relief without giving up a single earned run.  Sampson has collected two saves and seven strikeouts in the young season, and has a 2-0 record.
PC has won its last two games against Omaha and Bowling Green at home by a combined score of 17-6.  Weston Jackson (Greer, S.C.) leads the Blue Hose at the plate with a .411 batting average and he is tied with the team-high with 14 RBI.  Jackson has ripped seven doubles so far this season, and carries a team-high slugging percentage of .643.
The Blue Hose are currently tied for the league lead in the Big South with a team batting average of .315, and are the best defensive team in the conference with a .979 fielding percentage.
