GREENVILLE, N.C. – Freshman Jasmine Gabriel was the only North Carolina Central University women's tennis player to win a set in a 7-0 team loss at East Carolina University on Saturday. The Pirates leveled their record to 3-3 on the young season. The Lady Eagles remained winless at 0-3.
Gabriel won her first set, 6-3, but senior Nicole LaDuca took the final two sets by matching 6-1 scores to keep NCCU off the scoreboard.
ECU secured the other five singles points in straight sets. The Pirates earned the first team point with a 6-3 and 6-0 wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. Senior

Lynsey Cover were a 4-4 doubles deadlock at No. 2 doubles for NCCU when play was stopped.
