BERLIN, Md. - North Carolina Central University junior golfer
Jordan Bohannon earned MVP honors and led the Eagles to a runner-up team finish at the Maryland Eastern Shore Collegiate Challenge on Tuesday at The Ocean City Golf Club in Berlin, Maryland.
Bohannon, a native of Southfield, Michigan, captured low medalist recognition after carding an even-par 72 in Monday's opening round, followed by a 74 and a 76 to finish at 222 (+6) on the 6,701-yard course.
Zane Lewis posted scores of 75, 77 and 81 to tie for eighth place at 233 (+17).
Sumner Tate (76, 81, 76) and
Samuel Bradley (74, 80, 80) placed 10th and 11th, respectively, followed by
Nathan Corley (77, 76, 88) in 19th place.
As a team, NCCU took home the runner-up trophy with a tally of 917 (297, 307, 313), just seven strokes behind event winner Iona (292, 305, 313). Hampton (934) placed third, even host Maryland Eastern Shore (939) fourth and Virginia State (993) fifth.
NCCU returns to action on Oct. 31-Nov. 1 at the Savannah State University Tiger Fall Invitational at Crosswinds Golf Club in Savannah, Georgia.
