Bohannon Places 18th to Lead NCCU Golf at Donald Ross Intercollegiate


MORGANTON, N.C. – North Carolina Central University junior Jordan Bohannon finished three rounds at 7-over-par to place 18th on the individual leaderboard as the top Eagle at the Donald Ross Intercollegiate, hosted by Appalachian State University at Mimosa Hills Country Club on Oct. 10-11.
 
A junior from Southfield, Michigan, Bohannon shot an opening round 1-under-par 69 and then consecutive rounds of 74 for a total of 217 (+7).
 
Zane Lewis (Sanford, N.C.) posted scores of 76, 75 and 80 to tie for 49th place for NCCU. Transfer Samuel Bradley (Sanford, N.C.) followed rounds of 83 and 79 with an even-par final round of 70 to tie for 51st place. Sumner Tate (Raleigh, N.C.) carded scores of 80, 77 and 76 to tie for 54th place, while freshman Nathan Corley (Farmington Hills, Michigan) shot 86, 87, 86 to place 57th.
 
As a team, NCCU placed 10th in the 10-team field with rounds of 308, 305 and 300 for a total of 913. High Point University won the event with a total score of 851 (281, 281, 289), while host App State was the runner-up at 855 (285, 291, 279).
 
NCCU returns to the links on Oct. 17-18 for the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Challenge in Berlin, Maryland.
