BOX SCOREDURHAM, N.C. –
Ekaterina Nekrasova and
Rebecca Wood made their final home match even more memorable with a pair of straight-set wins in leading the North Carolina Central University women's tennis team to a 7-0 non-conference win over University of Mount Olive on Sunday afternoon at the NCCU Tennis Courts.
The two Lady Eagle seniors were honored by their fellow coaches and teammates before they took the court together as doubles partners. Nekrasova and Wood went on to win 8-2 to help the Lady Eagles secure the doubles point and set the tone for the match in favor of the Maroon and Gray.
"It has just been a privilege and an honor to be a part of their last year," said NCCU first year head coach
Hans Olsen. "They're great people, very talented tennis players and very smart academically. I have learned a lot from them this season and hope they learned some things from me as well. I really have enjoyed them. Their personalities are amazing to work with, very coachable… just great young ladies."
Wood (6-3, 6-2), Nekrasova (6-1, 6-1) and junior

Tamara Jeremic (6-4, 6-4) survived two close sets to complete the NCCU sweep in the final bout.
