WILMINGTON, N.C. – Senior Ekaterina Nekrasova picked up the only point for visiting North Carolina Central University in a 6-1 non-conference women's tennis loss at UNC Wilmington on Friday afternoon.

The Seahawks improved to 5-6 overall. The Lady Eagles slip to 3-10.

UNCW took all three doubles matches with juniors Mia Ramic and Aissa Muamba provided the biggest challenge before losing 8-5 in the first flight.

The hosts won five of six singles matches in straight sets. Nekrasova rallied to win her singles match in a tight 2-6, 7-6 (4), 10-7 battle against Christine Kharkevitch. Nekrasova increased her singles record to 8-5. 

NCCU will have a week to prepare for its long anticipated home opener when the Lady Eagles entertain UNC Asheville on Saturday, March 28 at 2 p.m.
