CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – North Carolina Central University dropped Wednesday's men's tennis match versus the seventh-ranked team in the nation, the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, by a score of 6-0, but the evening was highlighted by the performance of NCCU freshman 
Kert Kilumets. 
Kilumets went toe-to-toe with the Tar Heels' No. 1 singles player, Brett Clark, who edged the Eagles' rookie 6-4 in the first set and held a slim 3-2 lead in the second set when the battle was recorded as unfinished. 
At No. 2 singles, NCCU sophomore 
William East tussled with UNC's Jack Murray, winning two games in the first set and three in the second. Senior 
Tamina Kienka also won a pair of games in each of his two sets at No. 5 singles. 
The Tar Heels earned the doubles point by winning 6-1 at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles positions.  At No. 2 doubles, NCCU seniors 
Daniil Gerasimov and 
Fabrice George trailed just 4-2 when their match was halted once UNC captured two doubles victories. 
On Sunday, Feb. 8 at 5 p.m., NCCU will face its third straight nationally-ranked ACC opponent when the Eagles take the court with No. 6 Duke University inside the Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center.
