Eagles Repeat as ITA Carolina Regional Community Service Award Recipients

TEMPE, Ariz. – North Carolina Central's men's tennis team has been named the 2026 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Carolina Regional Community Service Award winner, announced Tuesday. The Eagles earned the honor for the second consecutive season.

"Every year the ITA recognizes coaches and student-athletes for their excellence both on the court and in their communities throughout the season," stated on ITA's website. "The ITA Community Service Team Regional Award honors a team that gives back to their campus and their community through tennis and non-tennis pathways."

The Eagles have excelled in the classroom, on the court, and in the community. NCCU hosted its annual Tennis Daze event, welcoming members of both the campus and local community to learn and enjoy the sport of tennis. The men's tennis team also partnered in recognizing local Teachers of the Month and volunteered with the Emily K Center during the past season.
