TEMPE, Ariz. – The North Carolina Central men's tennis team was named a 2026 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team, closing a strong year in the classroom and on the courts.
NCCU earned the honor as one of 162 Division I programs to finish the 2025-26 academic year with a team GPA of 3.2 or better. The Eagles' academic success included three student-athletes who recorded perfect 4.0 GPAs in both the Fall and Spring semesters.
Individually, six Eagles were recognized as ITA Scholar-Athletes. Lucas Artigas, Neiman Sneed, Kareem Abdul Hakim, Rodrigo Alves, Naresh Bharathy and Antoni Pankowski each maintained a GPA of at least 3.5 during the academic year, joining 1,008 Division I student-athletes recognized by the ITA.
The men's tennis program also led the NCCU athletic department academically, finishing with the highest team cumulative GPA in both the Fall 2025 (3.83) and Spring 2026 (3.78) semesters.
