DURHAM, N.C. - After dropping Friday's baseball season-opener, North Carolina Central University posted a 6-1 victory on Saturday in the second contest of a three-game weekend series with MEAC foe Norfolk State University at the Durham Athletic Park.  The Spartans took the rubber-match by a score of 5-3 on Saturday evening.

NCCU junior pitcher Alex Dandridge allowed just one hit with one unearned run, while striking out eight batters in eight innings of work on the mound for the victory in Saturday's opener.

In the nightcap on Saturday, NCCU held a 2-1 lead after three innings, but the Spartans tied the game in the fourth and moved ahead of the Eagles with two runs in the fifth.
