17 MEMBERS OF NCCU BASEBALL EARN MEAC ACADEMIC HONORS

The Eagles tied with Bethune-Cookman for the most in the conference

NORFOLK, Va. – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) released its baseball academic honors on Tuesday with 95 student-athletes making the list having a GPA of 3.0 or better as North Carolina Central University tied Bethune-Cookman for the most in the league with 17 student-athletes.
 
MEAC sophomore, junior and senior student-athletes with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average as well as transfer student-athletes who have been in residence at the institution for at least one year are eligible for All-Academic accolades.
 
"I am very proud of each and every student-athlete on our roster that made the list," said NCCU head coach Jim Koerner.  "They all have worked hard on and off the field and I am glad they are seeing the fruits of their labor."
 
The following student-athletes from NCCU have a GPA of 3.0 or better:

"In addition to recognizing the student-athletes achievements, I also applaud the athletic academic support staffs, coaching staffs and all persons who contributed to the academic success of these student-athletes."

On the diamond, the third-seeded Eagles from the South Division will embark on opening round action of the 2014 MEAC Baseball Championships at 9:00 a.m. against the No. 2 seed from the Northern Division, Norfolk State, from Marty Miller Field in Norfolk, Va.
