DURHAM, N.C.  – Coming off a doubleheader sweep over Easter Weekend, North Carolina Central University looks to return to form as the Eagles hit the road for a single nonconference matchup against the Lancers of Longwood University on Wednesday, April 23 at 6:00 p.m. from Bolding Stadium in Farmville, Va.
 
NCCU (15-24-1, 10-9 MEAC) outlasted LU 16-12 on March 5 after trailing 9-1 after two innings, where the maroon and gray scored 11 runs on 10 hits, including a go-ahead three-run bomb by senior Carter Williamson (Roanoke, Va.) in the win.
 
LU (16-24, 6-12 Big South) is currently sixth in the North Division of the Big South, three games behind VMI and four behind Radford.  The Lancers are coming off a series win on the road against the Keydets and will face Presbyterian in league action at home this weekend beginning on Friday, April 25 at 6:00 p.m.
 
The Lancers are led by at-the-plate by senior Matt Dickason who is batting .341 on the year (10th in the Big South), tied with a team-high 12 doubles on the year, but junior Brandon Delk is tied for second in the conference with eight home runs on the year.
 
Senior third baseman Tyson Simpson (Burgaw, N.C.) continues to lead the maroon and gray charge batting .379 at-the-plate with a team-best 10 doubles, but over the last 10 games, Williamson is hitting .387 (12-for-31) with two doubles and five RBI.
 
Redshirt junior Eric Kimber (Greensboro, N.C.) will take the mound for the Eagles for his fifth start, while sophomore righty Allen Ellis (1-1, 5.19 ERA) will make his seventh start of the season.
 
The NCCU Sports Network will not be broadcasting Wednesday night's contest, but will have full coverage of Senior Weekend beginning on Saturday, April 26 at 12:45 p.m. with the Denny's of Durham Pregame Show as the program will honor seven seniors this weekend (Alex Moore, Carter Williamson, Zack Lee, Jacob Russell, Terry McNabb, Tyson Simpson, and Morris Jones)
