DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University's baseball team returns to the diamond with two midweek contests. The team plays at UNC Asheville on Tuesday (March 4) at 3:30 p.m. and has a home match-up versus Longwood University at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Durham Athletic Park.
The Eagles dropped two of three games at North Carolina A&T this past weekend, but defeated the Aggies 9-3 in the series finale on Sunday.
Infielder Tyson Simpson leads NCCU with a .545 batting average, 18 hits and six doubles. Carter Williamson comes behind Simpson with a .355 batting average, 11 hits, and two homeruns.
Eagles' pitcher Andrew Wilson stands with a 0-1 record and 10 strikeouts. Wilson will be the projected starting pitcher in the upcoming game at UNC Asheville.
The Eagles currently have a 2-7-1 record and stand 1-2 in the MEAC.
