SCOUTING REPORT:  #6/6 NORTH CAROLINA
- The North Carolina Tarheels enter the 2014-15 season with tons of excitement and seem to be gearing for a run to yet another Final Four.  The Heels are led by the leading vote-getter on the 2014-15 Preseason All-American team in point guard Marcus Paige.  The junior also scorched the ACC last season averaging 17.5 points per game (Fourth in the ACC) as the Heels finished the year 24-10 overall, good enough for third place in the Atlantic Coast Conference.  Paige was named Preseason ACC Player of the Year and was named the nation's No. 2 player in the preseason by ESPN.

-Last year the sixth-ranked Heels were second in the ACC in scoring (76.6 points per game), 12th in scoring defense (69.8 points per game), 15th in free throw percentage (62.6%), second in field goal percentage (46.3 percent), and eighth in field goal percentage defense (41.6 percent).  UNC had the top rebounding offense in the conference ripping down 39.7 boards a game, but were 13th in rebounding defense (34.7 boards a game).

-UNC has two starters returning in the 14-15 season with 6-9, 270-pound forward Kennedy Meeks leading the charge.  Meeks was the top rebounder on the team ripping down a team-high 6.1 boards a game, while 6-6 junior, J.P. Tokoto grabbed 5.8 rebounds a game, dished out 103 assists, and averaged 9.3 points per game.  Coming  off-the-bench 6-9 forward Brice Johnson averaged 10.3 points per contest while shooting 56.6 percent from-the-field, while UNC brought in arguable three of the nation's top recruits in point guard Joel Berry, small forward Justin Jackson, and 6-6 forward/guard Theo Pinson.

-UNC is led by the illustrious Roy Williams is has lead the Carolina blue charge over the last 11 years compiling a 306-89 record and has won two National Championships (2005, 2009).  Williams has put together a Hall of Fame resume with a 724-190 record over 26 years of coaching at UNC and Kansas.  The Tarheel program boasts five national championships and 18 final four appearances.
