DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University head men's basketball coach LeVelle Moton earned the MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Co-Coach of the Year award and junior guard Jeremy Ingram (Charlotte, N.C.) was honored as the league's Most Valuable Player according to CollegeInsider.com the national website announced.

The maroon and gray finished the 2012-13 campaign with a 22-9 record that included a 15-1 mark in conference action to finish in second place in the league. When the calendar flipped to 2013, the Eagles went an astounding 16-2 that included an 11-game winning streak, which was the longest span of consecutive victories since the 1995-96 season.

Under the tutelage of fourth year head coach LeVelle Moton the Eagles are 39-24 overall, 25-7 in the MEAC since becoming official members of the league. Taking in consideration the year prior when the maroon and gray played a full conference schedule but weren't eligible for postseason play, the program is 54-39 overall, 40-13 against MEAC opponents.

Moton was a finalist for three coaching awards that included the Ben Jobe National Coach of the Year given annually to the top minority coach in the nation, the Hugh Durham award handed out to the top mid-major coach across the country, and the BoxtoRow National Coach of the Year presented to the top HBCU coach nationwide.

Ingram finished the regular season second in the MEAC in scoring at 15.7 points a game, sixth in free-throw percentage (79.8 percent), third in three-point percentage (39.4 percent), and fourth in three-pointers made (2.0 per game). The shooting guard scored a career-high 32 points against Bethune-Cookman on February 11, and dropped-in 20 points or more eight times in his junior season. Ingram earned MEAC Co-Player of the week honors on Feb. 25.

Norfolk State's combination of head coach Anthony Evans and Pendarvis Williams were also honored by the website as Evans shared Co-Coach of the Year honors with Moton, while Williams was named MEAC Player of the Year.
