NCCU WOMEN’S TENNIS DROPS TWO IN DOUBLEHEADER

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University women’s tennis team suffered a pair of losses falling to East Carolina University (6-1) and the University of Virginia (6-0) while competing at the UNC Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center in Chapel Hill, N.C.

 During the Lady Eagles first Atlantic Coast Conference match-up of the season, the Cavaliers swept singles competition 6-0 over NCCU taking home the victory.

In the second match of the day, NCCU took on the Lady Pirates of ECU falling 6-1.

Lady Eagle freshman Aissa Muamba, who is now 14-2 in singles competition during the season, earned NCCU’s lone singles victory during the match-up defeating ECU’s Yilian Zhand 6-2, 6-4 in the No. 3 spot.

The Lady Eagles return to the courts Saturday, April 6 as they take on UNC-Wilmington at 1 p.m. in Wilmington, N.C.
