MT. OLIVE, N.C. – North Carolina Central University earned its third straight match victory with a 5-2 win over Mt. Olive College on Thursday, Feb. 28 in Mt. Olive, N.C at the Walker Tennis Center.
NCCU’s top four student-athletes were undefeated, sweeping the top four singles positions.
Senior
Olesya Palko beat Molly Sue Lentini 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1 singles. Sophomore
Ekaterina Nekrasova defeated Francesca Ceppi 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. Freshman
Aissa Muamba dropped Roxanna Chouinard 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles while sophomore
Rebecca Wood defeated Samara Paldinho 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4 singles.
The Lady Eagles swept doubles competition winning all three matches to earn the doubles point. Palko and Muamba teamed up at No. 1 doubles to beat Lentini and Ceppi, 8-1. The sophomore duo of Nekrasova and Wood, won at No. 2 doubles, 8-1, over Chouinard and Maite Belloso. While a pair of rookies,

Mia Ramic defeated MOC’s Palinho and Paulina Delgado 9-7.
NCCU (4-2) returns to action Saturday-Monday, March 2-4 at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Round-Up where they will take on league opponents South Carolina State, Florida A&M, Bethune-Cookman and Savannah State in Florence, S.C.
