THE GAME

North Carolina Central University returns home for the first time since Dec. 4 after going 2-2 in a season-long road swing and are now 7-7 on the year. The Eagles will play its final nonconference contest against the Dragons of Virginia University of Lynchburg before diving back into MEAC play on the road against Florida A&M (Jan. 12) and Bethune-Cookman (Jan. 14).

THE SERIES
NCCU and VUL have never met on the hardwood as the Eagles have faced two non-Division I schools on the year with an average win total of 58.5 points. This contest marks the second NCAA Division I school the Dragons have faced this season dropping a 102-61 affair to Virginia Military Institute (VMI) on Dec. 3 in Lexington, Va.

VIRGINIA UNIVERSITY OF LYNCHBURG "DRAGONS"
The Dragons of the Virginia University of Lynchburg enter Tuesday night’s nonconference affair with a 9-13 record ending a three-game losing streak after Ohio Midwestern College forfeited the final game of the USCAA Classic hosted by Ave Maria University in Ave Maria, Fla. The Dragons lost to the host Gyrenes of Ave Maria 80-67 on Thursday, Jan. 3 and fell to Daemen College (N.Y.) 88-65 on Friday, Jan. 4. VUL competes in the Division I level of the USCAA (United States Collegiate Athletic Association), however the Dragons were one of the original members of the CIAA (Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association). The Dragons are 4-5 in their last nine ballgames and average 72.4 points a game and have recorded a 3-7 record away from Lynchburg. As a team, VUL shoots 43.7 percent from the field, 28.3 percent from the outside, while allowing opponents to average 43.8 percent from the field, 30.2 percent from behind-the-arc. The Dragons are allowing 81.9 points per game. VUL is led by head coach Buddy Mason.

UP NEXT
The maroon and gray will make the vaunted trip down to the Sunshine state to battle Florida A&M (Saturday, Jan. 12-6:00 p.m) and Bethune-Cookman (Monday, Jan. 14- 7:30 p.m.). After the weekend off, the Eagles will return home to begin a crucial three-game MEAC homestand against Howard University on Jan. 21 (7:30 p.m.), Coppin State on Jan. 26 (4:00 p.m.), and Morgan State on Jan. 28 (7:30 p.m.).
