The maroon and gray look to end the three-game conference homestand on a high note as the Bears of Morgan State University come to the Bull City fresh off their 55-52 victory over North Carolina A&T over the weekend.

MORGAN STATE UNIVERSITY "BEARS"
Morgan State University enters Monday night’s marquee matchup beaming after a 55-52 victory over fellow Tar Heel state member North Carolina A&T on Saturday afternoon inside the Corbett Sports Center. Veterans DeWayne Jackson and 7-2 Ian Chiles led the Bears with 14 points each, combining for 22 rebounds in the win. MSU spent that contest without head coach Todd Bozeman who was suspended for one game for unsportsmanlike conduct. The Bears are 6-10 on the year and currently sit in fifth place in the league at 3-2. Bozeman is in his seventh season at the helm at Morgan State and has most certainly set a standard for the MEAC with his 116-95 record. He’s racked up two MEAC Tournament Championships, three regular season championships (2008, 2009, 2010), and four NCAA Tournament appearances that includes Morgan State’s first in Division I school history. The Bears are led by arguably one of the best players in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference in Jackson. The 6-8 senior is fifth in the conference in scoring averaging 14.8 points per game, 15th in the league in rebounding (5.5 rebounds per game), and No. 1 in the league in steals with 37 averaging 2.3 thefts per game. Jackson is aided by 6-2, 220-pound combo guard/forward junior Justin Black who is averaging 13.1 points a game, while fellow senior Anthony Hubbard is 18th in the MEAC dropping in 12.0 points per game. Hubbard is eighth in the league in rebounding grabbing 6.8 boards per contest. Morgan State’s 7-2 center Ian Chiles enters the week fourth in the conference in field goal percentage at 55.7 percent (59-of-106), and Shaquille Duncan is tied for fourth in blocked shots with 36 (2.4 swats per game) on the year. Monday’s matchup will pit two of the three top scoring teams in the league as MSU is third averaging 67.9 points per ballgame, but the Bears are ninth in the MEAC surrendering 72.0 points per game. MSU is second in the league in field goal percentage shooting 43.8 percent from the field as a team.
