DURHAM, N.C.  – Due to the suspension of Saturday’s second contest because of rain, the North Carolina Central University baseball team will resume its series with Florida A&M University on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. with the Senior Day ceremony to take place at 2:45 p.m. prior to first pitch.

NCCU and FAMU will finish the second game of the series which is slated to go seven innings and will complete the series with the finale that is scheduled for nine innings.

Game two of yesterday’s scheduled doubleheader was ended abruptly with a deluge of rain in the bottom of the first inning with sophomore Dylan Drayton (Raleigh, N.C.) at-the-plate with the count at two balls and one strike.

The Eagles took game one yesterday 13-7 and are looking to make one step closer to clinching second place in the Southern Division of the MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference).  With the opening game victory, NCCU clinched a spot in the 2012 MEAC Baseball Tournament which will take place May 16-20 at Marty Miller Field in Norfolk, Va.

The NCCU Sports Network will go on the air at 2:40 p.m. and will carry the Senior Day ceremony live as Etienne Farquharson, Sam Fulmer, and Ross Plummer will don the maroon and gray uniform for the final time at home.  Play-by-play voice Chris Hooks will carry all the live action of Sunday’s doubleheader at the Durham Athletic Park.
