NCCU Women's Tennis v. Florida A&M
DURHAM, N.C. (www.NCCUEaglePride.com) - In their second Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference win of the 2012 season, the Lady Eagles of North Carolina Central University overpowered Florida A&M 5-2 on Tuesday, March 6 in Durham, N.C., on the NCCU Tennis Courts.
NCCU gathered four singles wins beginning with Olesya Palko seizing a 6-0, 6-2 win over Kathline Durden. Cameron Chatman defeated Alexis Brown in a 6-3, 7-5 battle, while Ekaterina Nekrasova beat Britney Dean 6-2, 6-1. Rebecca Wood rounded out the singles wins with a 6-2, 6-4 over Bethany Holt.
Doubles play consisted of two doubles win for the match victory, with Chatman and Palko seizing the No. 1 win and Nekrasova and Wood taking the No. 2 doubles win.
The Chatman and Palko conquest came off an 8-4 victory over Brown and Durden, as Nekrasova and Wood swept Holt and Elysia Ortiz 8-0.
The mighty maroon continues the season with a Saturday, March 10 matchup against Appalachian State University at 2:00 p.m. on the NCCU Tennis Courts in Durham, N.C.
