SAVANNAH, Ga. – The North Carolina Central University men’s golf team placed ninth at the Savannah State University Tiger Fall Invitational at Crosswinds Golf Club in Savannah, Ga., Nov. 11-12.
The Eagles ended both rounds with a team total of 663, just three sets away from Louisburg, which placed at No. 8 among the 13-team field.
NCCU junior Glendon Mabe and Virginia State’s junior Rashad Hunt tied at 33rd, with a total of 161 for both rounds (+17). Mabe set scores of 76 (first round) and 85 (second round) on the par 72, 6748-yard course.
Freshman Michael Wilson was top two on NCCU’s golf team as he tied at 43rd with Saint Augustine’s senior Daniel Pittman. Wilson scored 84 and 82 with a two-round total of 166 (+22).
NCCU will head to Myrtle Beach, S.C., March 10-12 for the “Bash at the Beach” Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Appalachian State University.
