BOONE, N.C. – North Carolina Central University women’s tennis sophomore Ekaterina Nekrasova won all three of her matches to earn the Flight 7 singles title at the Appalachian State University Fall Invitational on Oct. 26-27 in Boone, N.C.
A native of Russia, Nekrasova defeated Mackenzie Lasure of Appalachian State 6-0, 6-4, Lindsay Krause of Presbyterian 6-0, 6-1, and finally Abby Richmond of East Carolina 6-1, 6-1.
In the doubles Flight 2 of the invitational, Nekrasova and NCCU senior Olesya Palko won the flight by defeating Jennifer Ansari and Gaberiela Celi of Appalachian State, 8-6, and Patricia Alves and Lucia Leachy of Presbyterian College 8-2.
NCCU freshman Mia Ramic teamed up with Haley Elliott of Presbyterian College to win the doubles flight 4 of the invitational.
