DURHAM, N.C. (NCCUEaglePride.com) – Coming off the heels of the exciting 6-2 win over Savannah State University on Sunday afternoon, the Eagles of North Carolina Central University turn their attention to a Wednesday afternoon twinbill against in-state foe Campbell University beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the Durham Athletic Park.
On Sunday, NCCU ridded themselves of a 14-game losing streak and look for two-in-a-row in the tenth meeting between the Eagles and Camels. Campbell currently holds a 9-0 lead in the series including four straight wins over NCCU on back-to-back days.
Due to the road contest on March 30 at Taylor Field in Buies Creek, N.C. being postponed, Wednesday’s affair has been switched to two seven inning games.
Game one will see freshman Jacob Russell (Winston-Salem, N.C.) go to the hill for the Eagles, while senior Douglas Dalley (Durham, N.C.) will get the nod for the second contest of the day. Dalley.
In his last two outings Dalley has pitched some of his best baseball at NCCU as the senior has gone 10 innings, allowed only seven hits, one earned run, and four strikeouts with a 0.90 ERA. Opposing hitters in his last two appearances are batting .194 against him.
The NCCU Sports Network will carry both games of the twinbill online beginning at 2:45 p.m. with Eagle Gameday presented by the Hilton RTP. Play-by-play voice, Chris Hooks, will call all the live action at the Durham Athletic Park.
