DURHAM, N.C. - The North Carolina Central University women's tennis team captured its first win of the 2011 season with a 7-0 sweep of Meredith College on Sunday on the campus of NCCU.

Earning singles victories for NCCU were Oleysa Palko (No. 1), Cameron Chatman (No. 2), Fredrica Larsson-Lombard (No. 3), Kelly Chaparro (No. 4), Tatiana Velasquez (No. 5) and Maria Nedstrom (No. 6).

Chatman remains undefeated at the No. 2 singles position during the 2011 campaign with a 5-0 record.

The Lady Eagles also earned the doubles point by winning at all three doubles positions. Palko and Chatman won at No. 1 doubles, Larsson-Lombard and Nedstrom at No. 2, and Velasquez and Chaparro at No. 3.

NCCU returns to the courts on Monday, Feb. 28 at Mount Olive College.
