Hidalgo Vega Stays Unbeaten in MEAC, Wins Weekly Award

NORFOLK, Va. – For the second time this season, North Carolina Central's Alejandra Hidalgo Vega has been named the MEAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week, as announced by the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference on Tuesday afternoon.

Hidalgo Vega closed out the final MEAC Roundup of her career with a perfect 4-0 record in singles to open conference play. The Madrid, Spain native capped competition in Norfolk, Virginia, on March 30 with a win over Delaware State's Catherine Goldman.

Following Monday's victory against South Carolina State, Hidalgo Vega remains undefeated against MEAC opponents, holding a 5-0 record in singles and a 4-0 mark in doubles play.

NCCU will travel to Norfolk State on Thursday, April 9, before concluding the regular season at home against Shaw on Saturday, April 11, for Senior Day. Hidalgo Vega will be one of two seniors honored in a pre-match ceremony on the NCCU Courts.
