2026 MEAC Tennis Championships Set for Cary Tennis Park, Hosted by NCCU

CARY, N.C. – North Carolina Central University will host the 2026 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Tennis Championships from April 23-25 at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C. NCCU's women's team enters as the No. 4 seed, while the men's team holds the No. 2 seed in their respective brackets.

On the women's side, seven teams will compete for the title. Morgan State earned the No. 1 seed and a direct bye into the semifinals. Opening round matchups on Thursday, April 23, include No. 2 Norfolk State vs. No. 7 Coppin State (8 a.m.), No. 3 Howard vs. No. 6 South Carolina State (11 a.m.), and No. 4 NC Central vs. No. 5 Delaware State (8 a.m.).

Both women's semifinals will be played Friday at 9 a.m., with the winners advancing to the championship final at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 25.

On the men's side, six teams will compete. No. 1 South Carolina State and No. 2 NC Central received byes and will begin play Friday, April 24. South Carolina State will face the winner of Thursday's match between No. 4 Morgan State and No. 5 Howard (2 p.m.), while NCCU will take on the winner of the matchup between No. 3 Norfolk State and No. 6 Coppin State (2 p.m.).

Friday's men's semifinals begin at noon, and the championship final will follow the women's final at noon on Saturday.

Admission is free each day of the event, and both championship matches will stream live on ESPN+.
