DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central women's tennis concluded the regular season with a dominant 4-0 win over Shaw on Saturday afternoon at the NCCU Tennis Courts. Alejandra Hidalgo Vega and Valeria San Miguel Soria were honored in a pre-match Senior Day ceremony.

NCCU (9-9, 4-2 MEAC) opened the match by securing the doubles point. After a No. 3 victory by default, Hidalgo Vega and Valentina de Aquino shut out their opponents 6-0 at No. 2 doubles. San Miguel Soria and Mariana Zottoli added another win, taking a tight match with a 7-3 tiebreaker at the No. 1 spot.

A default win to open singles gave the Eagles a 2-0 lead. Hidalgo Vega then cruised to a straight-sets victory at No. 1 singles. De Aquino followed with a 6-0, 6-3 win in the No. 4 slot to clinch the match for NCCU.

Shaw (7-6, 7-0 CIAA) continues action in the CIAA as the Bears look to stay undefeated in conference action.

With the regular season complete, the Eagles now await final seeding for the MEAC Tennis Championships, set for April 23-25. NCCU will host the event at Cary Tennis Park.
