DURHAM, N.C. – In the final game of the regular season, North Carolina Central will look to extend its win streak over South Carolina State in MEAC women's basketball action at McDougald-McLendon Arena on Thursday, March 5, at 2 p.m.

The Eagles (4-9 MEAC, 8-19 overall) have beaten the Bulldogs eight straight games since 2022 including a 68-65 victory in Orangeburg, S.C., two weeks ago. The Bulldogs are winless in their last five trips to McDougald-McLendon Arena.
In their last meeting two weeks ago, NCCU used a late defensive stand to hold off South Carolina State in the final seconds. The Eagles forced a tough inbounds pass and the Bulldogs missed a desperation shot.
Natalie Jasper hit two free throws for the three-point lead and
Morgan Callahan stole the fullcourt inbound pass with 1.2 seconds left to secure the win for the Eagles.
Jasper, who averages 7.0 points per game, has been hot lately. She has scored in double figures four consecutive games and seven of the previous nine contests. The NCCU guard averaged 15 points in the last four games.

Morgan Callahan averages 11.6 points and a team-high 7.4 rebounds per game. Callahan is the Eagles' career scoring leader in the Division I era with 1,349 points.

th best in the country.
South Carolina State is led by Iemyiah Harris in scoring (13.4) and assists (2.0). Shaunice Reed is the steals leader (1.9 spg) for the Bulldogs, who are last in the MEAC standings and losers of their last 10 games.
NCCU, tied for fifth in the MEAC, is coming off three straight losses and is seeking a win to gain momentum heading into the next week's MEAC Tournament in Norfolk, Va.
