Aysia Hinton,
Dianna Blake and
Nia Young were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Division I Women's Basketball Team on Tuesday, March 24.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a sophomore academically and athletically, have at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and played in at least 90 percent or started in at least 66 percent of the team's games in the 2025-26 season.
Hinton, a junior guard from Durham, N.C., was selected to the CSC Academic All-District Team for the second straight year. A kinesiology major with a 3.59 GPA, Hinton led the Eagles and ranked second in the MEAC in made three-pointers (57) and made three-pointers per game (2.0) while ranking sixth in three-point field goal percentage (32.4). Her 12 three-pointers in a 103-51 victory over William Peace set an all-time school record and are the most in the NCAA this season in all divisions as of Tuesday. She scored 36 points against William Peace which is the most by an NCCU player in the Division I era.
Blake, a sophomore from Summerville, S.C., was placed on the CSC Academic All-District Team for the first time. The NCCU forward, who majors in business administration with a concentration in financial analytics, has a 3.71 GPA. Blake helped the Eagles on the boards, ranking third on the team in rebounding. She scored a season-high 12 points against William Peace, grabbed 11 rebounds against UNC Greensboro and blocked three shots versus Delaware State.
Young, a guard from Raleigh, N.C., garnered her first CSC Academic All-District selection this season. A transfer graduate from UNC Charlotte, Young is working towards a master's degree in social work with a 3.75 GPA. She was a pivotal player on a reserve unit that ranked among the top 15 nationally in bench points per game. She posted season highs in points (13) against Wake Forest, rebounds versus Averett (9), and assists (4) and steals (3) against William Peace.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
