DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central opens MEAC softball play this weekend with a three-game series against Coppin State at Thomas Brooks Park in Cary, N.C.
The series begins with a doubleheader on Saturday, March 14. The first game starts at 1 p.m. followed by the second game at approximately 3 p.m. The final game is set for Sunday, March 15, with a later start time of 4 p.m. due to a marathon in Cary, N.C.
The Eagles (1-21 overall) enter MEAC play after facing tough competition including top-ranked Tennessee as well as nationally-regarded North Carolina and Penn State. Six Power Four teams were on their non-conference slate.

Daiyah Bailey paces the team with 16 hits. Bailey is tied for the team lead in runs scored (5) with
Kendal Daniels and shares the RBI lead (4) with Daniels and
Elana Krupey.
Coppin State (1-7 overall) enters the weekend on a five-game losing streak. Julianna Mejia is Coppin State's top hitter with a .348 batting average and eight hits while Aniya Hailey leads the team in RBIs (5) and runs scored (4).
