DURHAM, N.C. – After competing in two out-of-state tournaments in as many weeks, North Carolina Central will be closer to home at the Tar Heel Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C. this weekend.
Admission is free for the tournament, which begins Thursday for the Eagles against Power Four program North Carolina, which is hosting the tournament at Anderson Stadium. They will play a doubleheader at 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
The NCCU-UNC doubleheader will be livestreamed on the ACC Network Extra.
After opening against North Carolina, NCCU will face Princeton on Friday at 10 a.m., Rider on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. and Appalachian State on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
NCCU earned its first win of the season last weekend at the HBCU Collegiate Invitational in Covington, Ga., topping Fort Valley State 5-3. Eagles' outfielder
Kendal Daniels was named MEAC Rookie of the Week after collecting three RBIs, a double and one run scored on 1 of 2 hitting.
