NORFOLK, Va. – The North Carolina Central women's tennis team has been picked to finish second in the 2026 MEAC Preseason poll, as voted on by the conference's head coaches and sports information directors.
The Eagles are three points behind conference favorite South Carolina State as NCCU collected 75 points and the Bulldogs finished with 78 points. Both squads earned the most first place votes as NC Central and South Carolina State garnered four and seven votes, respectively.
Howard rounded out the top three with 53 points, as Delaware State finished closely behind with 52. Morgan State took the fifth spot (49 points), followed by Norfolk State (43 points) and Coppin State (14 points).
NCCU opens the season at No.11 NC State on Sunday, Jan. 18 at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center. First serve is set for 11 a.m.
