NORFOLK, Va. – North Carolina Central gained the No. 5 seed and will face Coppin State in the MEAC Tournament women's basketball quarterfinals on Thursday, March 13, inside the Norfolk Scope at 12 p.m.

The tournament pairings were announced by the MEAC after the regular season concluded Thursday night. The Eagles topped South Carolina State on the road 68-63.

The Eagles (9-20, 6-8 MEAC) tied Morgan State for fifth in the final MEAC standings but secured the fifth seed on a tiebreaker. Coppin State (17-13, 8-6 MEAC) garnered the No. 4 seed after losing a tiebreaker to Maryland Eastern Shore.

The NCCU-Coppin State winner will take on the Norfolk State-South Carolina State winner in Friday's semifinals. Norfolk State finished as the top seed and South Carolina State is the eighth seed.

ESPN+ will livestream Thursday's quarterfinals and Friday's semifinals. The championship game on Saturday will be on ESPNews live at 4 p.m.
