WASHINGTON, D.C. – With only one match remaining at the 2025 MEAC Round-Up, NC Central's men's tennis team leaves the U.S. Capital with a 6-1 triumph over Howard on Sunday morning. The Eagles are now 4-0 in conference matches this season.
NCCU's (12-4) Rodrigo Alves, Naresh Bharathy, Kareem Abdul Hakim and Antoni Pankowski won every singles match in all three contests. Sunday's win marks the most in the Division I era for the men's program.
The fifth singles point came from Hugo Hidalgo Vega in the No.1 Singles slot over HU's Michael Major in three sets.
All three doubles teams were victorious as well. The Eagles never dropped the doubles point heading into singles competition in the Round-Up.
The Maroon & Gray return to the Bull City to prepare for the final MEAC regular season match when they travel to Orangeburg, S.C. to face South Carolina State on Saturday, April 5. NC Central will finish the season with three additional matches after that.
