DURHAM, N.C. – Freshman guard Shakiria Foster of North Carolina Central was named MEAC Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the third time this season on Monday, March 10. She tied for second in weekly rookie honors this season.

Foster averaged 7.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in two games last week. She registered 11 points, six rebounds and two assists in a loss to Norfolk State last Monday. Three days later, Foster finished with four points, six rebounds and three assists in a 68-63 win over South Carolina State last Thursday.

The Barnesville, Ga., native averaged 10.5 points and 1.4 steals during the regular season. She is third on the team in scoring and tied for second in steals.
