FARMVILLE, Va. – The North Carolina Central University women's tennis team won its first road match of the season 5-2 over Longwood University on Saturday afternoon at the New Lancer Courts.   

NCCU (3-4) fell behind early, dropping the doubles point but would have success in singles.

At the No.1 slot, Hidalgo Vega fell in the first set before coming back to take the final two. San Miguel Soria won a comfortable 6-3, 6-2 match at No.2 Singles.

Freshman Mariana Zottoli (No.3) and de Aquino Monsanto (No.5) both claimed 6-4, 6-3 victories. Mejia Arenas took care of business at the No.6 position in two sets.

The Eagles were scheduled to play at Hampton University on Sunday but will instead return home to prepare for another road match, this time at Mount Olive on March 6.
