VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The North Carolina Central University men's and women's track and field teams travel to the Virginia Beach Sports Center for the 2025 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Feb. 23-24.
NCCU competed in four regular season meets during the indoor season as multiple Eagles earned top finishes. After each competition at least one NC Central athlete garnered MEAC weekly awards. Sophomore Melanne Sutton led the pack winning three MEAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week honors. Field athletes Tia Lucas, Sa'Niya Fowler and Malcolm Forbes each earned a weekly honor along with Zion Amadi on the track.
Last season at the championships, the men's team finished fifth (67 points) and the women's team was seventh (27 points). Between both teams, the Maroon & Gray brought home two golds, three silvers and one bronze.
Tickets are available for online purchase only and can be found HERE. Single-day tickets are $18 and weekend passes are $25. Students of MEAC member schools can enter for free with a valid school ID.

Prior to the start of action on the oval this weekend, 23 Eagles were named 2025 Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field All-Academic selections by the MEAC. There were 192 honorees in all.
To be eligible for All-Academic honors, sophomores, juniors and senior student-athletes at MEAC institutions must have a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average. The same standard applies for transfer students with at least one year on campus.
