NORFOLK, Va. – Aaliyah Grant of North Carolina Central was selected MEAC Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Grant totaled six points, two rebounds and one steal in a loss to High Point on Sunday, Dec. 14, with all of her production coming in the first quarter. She finished 2 of 4 from the floor and 2 of 2 from the free throw line in 14 minutes of action including two minutes in the first quarter.

The freshman forward sparked the Eagles to an 18-18 tie after the first quarter. NCCU led 24-18 in the second quarter before High Point pulled away.

A native of Ocala, Fla., Grant is the second Eagle to earn an MEAC weekly honor in women's basketball this season.
