HAMPTON, Va. – The North Carolina Central men's tennis team wrapped up its fall season at the Pirate Hidden Dual on Nov. 1-2, hosted by Hampton at Neilson-Screen Tennis Stadium. Other opponents included Norfolk State, Morgan State and Longwood.

The Eagles opened competition against the host school. Naresh Bharathy and Antoni Pankowski defeated their Pirate opponents 6-4 in doubles. Pankowski scored a singles victory as well over Kevin Jorquera. After close individual 7-6 sets, Rodrigo Alves and Leo Fortier-Gariepy triumphed in singles over Hampton.

Longwood was the next challenge for NCCU. Alves recorded their only victory over the Lancers, winning 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (12-10) against Daniel Borisov in singles action.

NC Central and Hampton played a sequel on Sunday. This time, Alves and Fortier-Gariepy won their doubles match 7-6. The duo also came out on top in singles versus the Pirates. Alves didn't drop a match in singles this past weekend. 

The Eagles are now preparing for their spring opponents in the new year.
