DURHAM, N.C. – Nominations for the North Carolina Central University Alex M. Rivera Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2026 will open on Monday, Oct. 6, and close Friday, Nov. 28, the NCCU Department of Athletics announced.
Nominations may be submitted by any NCCU affiliate (NCCU employee, Eagle Club member, Board of Trustees member, alumnus, inducted Hall of Famer, and any Hall of Fame committee member) through a standard nomination form available on the NCCU athletics website,

Nominees may be submitted in one of four categories: student-athlete, coach, team or meritorious service. Specific criteria for each category are available
here.
Each induction class consists of a maximum of eight inductees, with no more than one team and one meritorious service inductee per class. New classes are inducted into the Alex M. Rivera Hall of Fame every three years.
Nominations submitted for the 2021 and 2023 induction classes that were not selected will automatically be reviewed for consideration during the 2026 process.
The official announcement of the 2026 Hall of Fame class will be distributed in June 2026. The induction ceremony will take place the following fall, during the weekend of an Eagles home football game.
The purpose of the Alex M. Rivera Hall of Fame is to recognize and pay tribute to former NCCU student-athletes and coaches who have demonstrated outstanding accomplishments during their enrollment/career at the university, as well as individuals who have demonstrated significant support in the advancement of the Department of Athletics through dedicated service.
