Nominations

Nominations for the Hall of Fame may be submitted by an NCCU affiliate (NCCU employee, Eagle Club member, Board of Trustees member, alumnus, inducted Hall of Famer, and any Hall of Fame committee member) and shall consist of a written nomination accompanied by supporting data and biographies. The nomination must include the current address of any living nominee or the address of a family member if the nominee is deceased.

Nominations will commence the first Monday in October in the year preceding the Hall of Fame induction and close the last Friday in November. The Department of Athletics will produce nomination forms that will be available on the Department of Athletics website – www.NCCUEaglePride.com. At the nomination closing, the Selection Committee will assemble and review the nominations for induction consideration.

All nominations will be received by the Selection Committee. Applications of nomination are considered incomplete if all information is not received by the deadline. All information submitted will be marked with date and time to ensure receipt of materials within the deadline date.

The Selection Committee shall select by majority vote (or unanimous vote in the instance of Meritorious Service) candidates not to exceed eight (8) candidates per induction year. A Team nomination shall be considered as one candidate. Only one Team or Meritorious Service inductee may be inducted as part of a single induction class, but it is not a requirement that either is inducted in a Hall of Fame class. The Selection Committee may elect to submit no candidates for induction if it is deemed that none of the nominations are suitable for Hall of Fame distinction.

The Selection Committee Chair will submit the list of proposed Hall of Fame inductees to the Director of Athletics in February for approval. After review and acceptance by the Director of Athletics, selections will be forwarded to the Chancellor in March for final approval.

Nominees will remain eligible for two additional induction cycles (one every three years) if not selected for the initial induction, after which the nomination may not be re-submitted for at least three consecutive induction cycles.
