Tickets Now on Sale for 2026 Alex M. Rivera Athletics Hall of Fame Induction

DURHAM, N.C. — Tickets are now on sale for the induction of the 2026 class of the NCCU Alex M. Rivera Athletics Hall of Fame, the North Carolina Central University Department of Athletics has announced. 

This year's class recognizes one team and seven individuals for their contributions and excellence:
  • The 2016 MEAC champion football team that played in the Celebration Bowl
  • Football coach Rod Broadway
  • Men's tennis standout Gabriel Cucalon
  • Volleyball star Ariel Germain
  • Football player Adrian Jones
  • Football player Mike Jones
  • Football player Christopher McKinstry
  • Track & field standout Bethany White 
The induction ceremony will take place on the weekend of the Eagles' home football game against Elizabeth City State, on Sept. 4, at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel at 6:30 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

The Alex M. Rivera Athletics Hall of Fame was established to recognize and pay tribute to former NCCU student-athletes and coaches who have demonstrated outstanding accomplishments during their enrollment/career at the university, as well as individuals who have demonstrated significant support in the advancement of the Department of Athletics through dedicated service.

Each induction class consists of a maximum of eight inductees, with no more than one team and one meritorious service inductee per class. New classes are inducted into the Alex M. Rivera Hall of Fame every three years.
