BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Kamren Harper posted her fifth consecutive double-double and North Carolina Central nearly forced a fifth set before falling to Gardner-Webb 3-1 (13-25, 25-21, 10-25, 21-25) in a non-conference volleyball match at Paul Porter Arena on Tuesday.
Harper totaled 18 kills, 11 digs and two total blocks for the Eagles, who defeated Gardner-Webb in three sets at home on Sept. 2. On Tuesday, NCCU trailed twice by a set but held a late lead in the fourth set. The score was 19-17 and 20-19 in the Eagles' favor but a 6-1 Gardner-Webb rally ended the match.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The match was a roller coaster for the Eagles, who rallied for a 25-21 comeback win in the second set and battled Gardner-Webb late in the fourth set. They nearly overcame double-digit defeats in the first and third sets before Gardner-Webb's late surge in the fourth set sealed the match.
NOTES
- Harper's double-double was her sixth this season and 13th of her four-year career.
- The loss snapped a two-match Eagles' win streak.
- The match was the second of a four-match road stretch for the Eagles.
- This was the last non-conference match this season for the Eagles.
