Loren Johnson contributed a match-high 17 digs for the North Carolina Central University volleyball team in a 3-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference road loss at Norfolk State University on Friday afternoon.
Sophomore
Kamren Harper led the Eagles with nine kills and graduate student
Jeslyn Spencer chipped in seven kills while junior setter
Bella Dearinger tallied 24 assists.
The Spartans finished the contest with a season-best .291 hitting percentage to start league play in the win column. Norfolk State (2-6 Overall, 1-0 MEAC) ripped 15 kills in the first set and 14 more in both the second and third sets.
Senior Sonte Seale paced the victors with 13 kills. Freshman Gabrielle Gilbert added 11 kills and three aces for a match-high 14 points.

Isa Dostal and freshman
Amarah Johnson chipped in five and four kills, respectively, for the maroon and gray.
NC Central (1-9, 0-1) will next play a MEAC match at Howard University (Washington, D.C.) on Sunday at 3 p.m.
